A moment they’ll never forget

Last Modified: March 30, 2026

Diseases & Disorders, People of Parkview

It might start quietly.

A nurse who adjusts your pillow one more time before leaving the room.
A physician who pulls up a chair and listens.
A therapist who says, “We’ll get through this together,” and truly means it.

In those moments, something shifts, and care becomes connection.

Every day across Parkview Health, caregivers go beyond diagnoses and treatment plans. They offer reassurance in uncertainty, steadiness in crisis and compassion when it’s needed most. And while they rarely ask for recognition, we know how much it means when they receive it. That’s where the Parkview Health Foundation Guardian Angel Program comes in.

Now it’s even easier to nominate through MyChart

This Doctor’s Day, sharing your gratitude is more accessible than ever. Patients and families can now nominate their Guardian Angel directly through Parkview MyChart.

If a member of your care team made a meaningful difference, you can:

  • Identify the caregiver who stood out.

  • Share your story — the small detail, the kind word, the moment that mattered.

  • Submit your nomination through MyChart.

A minimum $10 donation honors your caregiver with a Guardian Angel lapel pin and personalized certificate — a visible indication that their work made a profound effect.

For donations of $500 or more, an in-person pinning ceremony is arranged. During these powerful moments, patients and families are invited to attend and share their gratitude face-to-face. There are often tears, but always smiles and a renewed sense of purpose for everyone in the room.

Why it matters

Healthcare is intensely human work. Long hours. Complex cases. Emotional days.

When a caregiver is named a Guardian Angel, it does more than recognize excellence — it refuels it. Your words become encouragement on the hard days and affirmation that their compassion was felt.

Doctor’s Day is a celebration of physicians, but Guardian Angel recognition extends to any member of your care team, including nurses, therapists, technicians and support staff. You can nominate anyone who made your experience brighter. Because sometimes healing begins with feeling seen.

If someone at Parkview made your journey easier, steadier or more hopeful, consider taking a moment to honor them. Your gift not only communicates gratitude — it also helps propel their work forward, supporting advancements in technology, innovation, research, new equipment and supplies, and resources that care for both patients and co-workers. Your gratitude might become the moment they carry with them into their next patient’s room — and the investment that strengthens the care they provide for years to come.
