Cheers to 10 years!
The Her Heart Challenge started in 2016 to raise awareness about women's heart disease risk and to guide them in making lasting lifestyle changes. Now approaching its 10th year, the 12-week wellness initiative has graduated more than 250 participants. The challenge has evolved to include a monthly support group, an online community, fostered ongoing friendships, strengthened family bonds, inspired art and continues to offer its "flock" encouragement well beyond its end.
Jill Zahm, MSA, RN, AHN-BC, program coordinator, Parkview Heart Institute, and two participants from cohorts passed reflect on the program's growth and how it motivated them to make their health a priority.
