Canterbury goalkeeper Saed Anabtawi is adding one more accomplishment to his growing soccer resume: All-American.
Saed, a junior on the Cavaliers boys soccer team, earned All-America honors from the United States Coaches Association.
Saed is one of 88 boys selected to the All-American team. Four other Indiana players made the list. Nationwide, Saed is one of just 12 juniors to make the squad. He is the eighth player in Canterbury School history to be named an All-American.
In 18 games this past season, Saed allowed a mere 8 goals and recorded 62 saves and 11 shutout victories. Canterbury (13-2-3) won back-to-back sectional titles before falling to Bishop Dwenger in the 2A Norwell Regional Semi-Final. Saed propelled Canterbury to a 2A state runner-up finish in 2020.
Saed, who plays club soccer at Fort Wayne Sport Club and also plays for Fort Wayne FC, is a two-time All-State selection.
