Angola makes several new coaching hires

Angola added several new coaches to its ranks during a MSD of Steuben County board meeting on May 19.

The girls basketball, boys soccer, wrestling girls golf vacancies were all filled.

Nick Burlingame was approved as the new Lady Hornets basketball coach. The 2010 Angola graduate returns to his alma mater after three seasons as the boys basketball coach at Lakeland High School. Additionally, he will teach social studies at the school.

Nathan Wilz is taking over the Angola boys soccer team. Wilz was the girls soccer coach at Central Noble the past four seasons. Wilz played college soccer at Indiana Tech, earning Wolverine-Athletic Conference All-Academic honors as a junior and senior. 

Russ Tingley is the new wrestling coach at Angola. Tingley has been at Angola since 2006, serving as an assistant wrestling coach, assistant football coach, JV baseball coach, and middle school track & field. Prior to coming to Steuben County, Tingley was head coach at his alma mater Westerville South High School in Ohio for six years. He teaches special education at Angola High School. 

Brian Miller has added girls golf coaching to his duties. Miller coaches the boys team in the spring as well as swimming in the winter. He teaches at Angola Middle School.
