Lady Braves soccer players net All-District, Academic All-State honors

November 5, 2019

On the heels of a fantastic season for Blackhawk Christian girls soccer, several Lady Braves received honors at the district and statewide levels for their work on the field and in the classroom.

Junior forward Quinn Doden was named 1st Team All-District by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association. Teammate Aubree Vander Dussen, a junior defender, was named 2nd team All-District 2. Both Doden and Vander Dussen will play in the Indiana District Showcase on November 23 through November 24 at Indianapolis North Central High School.

Additionally, Blackhawk Christian head coach Tim Kintz was voted top coach in District 2 among private/parochial schools.

Scholastically, four Lady Braves earned Academic All-State honors for the season: Doden, Aubree Vander Dussen, Hallie Vander Dussen and Lydia Slaton. The Academic All-State award is given to senior and juniors who have a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

All four Lady Braves will be honored during the 2019 All-State Banquet on November 24 in Carmel.

Blackhawk Christian finished the fall season 17-1-2, clinching a 2nd sectional championship in 3 years and a lone loss to eventual 1A state runner-up Lafayette Central Catholic in the Eastbrook Regional semi-final. The Lady Braves climbed to No. 3 in the 1A state poll and outscored opponents 51-12 all season.
