The athletic departments at Indiana Tech, Huntington University and the University of Saint Francis have once again been named Champions of Character by the National Association of Interscholastic Athletics.
The award recognizes academic success as well as sportsmanship for NAIA athletic teams for the 2018-19 school year. Tech, Huntington and USF are 2 of 180 NAIA schools honored.
Further, Indiana Tech earned Gold Level 5 status, tallying 90 points. Tech is one of 63 schools to earn Gold; and it's the third-straight year the Warriors garnered it. Their league, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, was honored as a Five Star conference with 10 of 12 schools winning Gold.
Huntington and USF both earned Silver Level recognition. All 10 members of their Crossroads League earned Five Star recognition, thus giving the conference Five Star recognition, also, for a 9th year.
Indiana Tech, Huntington University and the University of Saint Francis are 3 of 5 universities that partner exclusively with Parkview Sports Medicine for orthopedic and sports medicine services, including athletic training, nutrition, performance and athletic rehabilitation.
