Improvements to Athletic Facilities Continue

December 20, 2017

MULTIPLE TEAMS AND FAN BASES WILL BENEFIT FROM ANOTHER ROUND OF NEW ATHLETIC FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS WHICH ARE BEGINNING ON THE HERITAGE CAMPUS.

As part of EACS’ on-going, district-wide renovation plans, Heritage High School has seen multiple changes in its sports facilities lately, and many new and exciting improvements are still on the way. The largest of the changes thus far was replacing the bleachers and building a brand new press box at the football field. After attracting more people to football games during the 2017 season, the changes will most likely attract a swarm of people during the spring for track meets also. With all the improvements that have already been completed, there are still many more Heritage will see this coming spring and summer.

By the end of the summer, Heritage will have completed a series of improvements around and to the football field. The current red, white and blue building, used for concessions and as a locker room for the football team, will be renovated. Only the frames and beams from the existing structure will be used to construct a newly designed brick building with a brown exterior. It will still be used as a concession stand for sporting events, and it will also be used as storage for custodial staff.

The football field will also receive LED lights, all new fencing, and a brand new scoreboard. There are also arrangements for the entrance of the stadium to have black rod iron fencing and a new ticket booth. At the back of the end zone near the parking lot, there will be a brand new field house for both football and track. The building will have locker rooms for the home and visiting teams, locker rooms for officials, and storage rooms for equipment.

Finally, Heritage has also made a major decision to replace the football field. By Aug. 4, 2018, football players and fans can expect to see a brand new turf football field. The school will boast some of the best facilities in the area in the fall of 2018, as Coach Tigulis and the players set out to resurrect the Heritage football program.

The football stadium is not the only sports facility that will see changes. By spring of 2018, there will be a brand new locker room and concessions between the baseball field and softball field. The locker room will be used by the baseball and softball teams in the spring and the soccer teams in the fall.

Athletic Director, Mr. Tim Burton, believes these changes will have a positive impact on Heritage. He stated that all the new improvements to the sports facilities will let student-athletes know that Heritage has very nice facilities. Overall the goal with the improvements is to not only attract student-athletes to the school, but all students in general.
