FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Blackhawk Christian School held a pep rally Wednesday afternoon to show its support for the state finalist boys basketball team.
Students, staff, cheerleaders and the band greeted the Braves in the gym, hoping they'll win their first-ever 1A state title.
Former head coach Gary Merrill spoke about the last time Blackhawk Christian played in the state finals in 2004, and expressed his encouragement.
No. 1 Blackhawk Christian (27-2) faces No. 2 Barr-Reeve (26-2) in the 1A state title game at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
