#TherapyThursday: Parkview Sports Medicine offers new blood flow restriction training for injured athletes

August 1, 2019

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Parkview Sports Medicine is offering a new technique in athletic rehabilitation, blood flow restriction training, to injured athletes during recovery from injury.

Using a specialized cuff around the injured arm or leg, blood flow restriction training uses low intensity exercise with with lighter loads to prevent stress on the limbs. Blood flow restriction training works to build strength and muscle size during the recovery process.

Blood flow restriction training is offered daily at the Parkview Athletic Rehabilitation clinic at SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse and The Summit and twice a week at the area hybrid clinics and Empowered Sports Club.

To learn more about the blood flow restriction technique, visit ParkviewSportsMedicine.com, or talk to a Parkview Sports Medicine Care Navigator at 260.266.4007.
