LIGONIER, Ind. - West Noble High School senior Kellie Waring has been named the 2017 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar for Noble County.
Waring received the honor at a surprise ceremony last week.
The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program offers 4-year scholarships and book and equipment assistance to students in Indiana who work towards a bachelor’s degree at an accredited public or private college or university in the state
The scholarships are administered by Independent Colleges of Indiana in partnership with community foundations of Indiana’s 92 counties.
Waring plays tennis for the Chargers, and was a football manager for two seasons.
She is also a member of the color guard and the National Honor Society.
Outside of school, she is president of P.U.L.S.E. of Noble County, which organizes projects and grants for the community.
Waring has earned a 4.01 grade point average, and ranks 7th in the senior class.
Waring will attend Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and plans to study dentistry and philanthropic studies.
