Parkview Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers

Giving back to local schools

Parkview Sports Medicine is proud to provide area high schools, universities and sports clubs - including Fort Wayne Community Schools - with over 70 athletic trainers at no cost. Our certified athletic trainers serve over 40 schools and clubs in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. They work at the schools and provide safety on the sidelines through preventative services, injury rehabilitation and emergency care at every practice and every home game.

Safety on the sidelines

At our Parkview Sports Medicine partner schools and clubs, your athlete has direct access to Parkview care through your athletic trainer. When an athlete is injured, the athletic trainer serves as your personal care navigator guiding you to the right care and through the recovery process.

In addition to providing daily care and injury rehab for minor injuries, your athletic trainer will communicate with all services of Parkview Sports Medicine that you may need. This includes our Ortho Express walk-in clinic for a quick injury diagnosis, our orthopedic surgery partners at Ortho NorthEast if a surgical procedure is needed, Parkview Athletic Rehabilitation and performance training teams for the rehabilitation and return-to-play protocol.

In addition to providing physical care, our athletic trainers are all QPR-certified. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, and is a technique used to recognize the signs that someone is at risk of suicide, to offer hope and refer the person to the care they need. Our entire athletic training staff has gone through the certification process and are trained to care for the mental well-being of your athlete as well as their physical well-being.
