For many families in Indiana and northwest Ohio, accessing top-tier medical specialists historically meant taking long, stressful trips outside our region. We knew we needed to find a better solution to reduce that travel burden for parents and children.
That is why Parkview Health has partnered with Cincinnati Children’s, one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country, to allow that care to be provided close to home.
Overcoming the geographic barriers to specialized pediatric medicine
To expand local access, we formed a powerful collaboration with Cincinnati Children's. This outstanding institution is consistently ranked among the top three pediatric hospitals in the country. Through this innovative telemedicine partnership, we are bringing world-class pediatric specialty care directly to Fort Wayne.
Our model uses real-time outpatient telemedicine clinics hosted right inside Parkview Women's and Children's Hospital. Local families can participate in direct video conferences and joint clinical sessions with Cincinnati Children's specialists and our own pediatricians. This advanced digital infrastructure allows kids to receive highly complex specialty care closer to home.
A powerful virtual partnership with a top-three national hospital
Virtual care is all about giving the right care at the right time. We focus heavily on customizing care delivery for every scenario to ensure families get seamless support. By using our Digital Care Center, we turn our regional facilities into virtual multi-specialty hubs. This infrastructure cuts down on unnecessary transfers and keeps children resting comfortably close to home.
Building a comprehensive regional safety net for children
We are continually expanding these jointly operated pediatric services with Cincinnati Children’s to build a stronger safety net. Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive continuum of emergency, inpatient and specialty care for children across our network. This digital care works alongside our other pediatric initiatives like the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which brings free childhood vaccinations directly to local schools and neighborhoods.
