Parkview Huntington Hospital receives Performance Leadership Award for hospital outcomes

One of three Parkview hospitals recognized by Chartis Center for Rural Health

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Nov. 21, 2025 – Parkview Huntington Hospital was recently awarded a Performance Leadership Award by The Chartis Center for Rural Health in the outcomes category.

Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes the Top 25% performance among rural hospitals in quality, outcomes and/or patient perspective.

It’s the second consecutive year Parkview Huntington has received an outcomes award from Chartis and the seventh Performance Leadership Award earned since 2016. Parkview Huntington was one of three hospitals recognized by Chartis this year, with Parkview LaGrange Hospital recognized for quality and Parkview Wabash Hospital also receiving an outcomes award in 2025.

The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX^®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals perform. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

Parkview Huntington Hospital was named one of Chartis’ Top 100 Rural Hospitals in 2023 and 2025 and has received Quality and Accountability Awards from Vizient Inc. for three consecutive years. Huntington has also received multiple top ratings by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) in categories including cleanliness and lowest rates of C. diff infection.
