Parkview Health named to Epic Honor Roll for fifth consecutive year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – July 14, 2025 – For the fifth consecutive year, Parkview Health was named to Epic’s Honor Roll Good Maintenance Grant Program, which recognizes healthcare organizations for effective implementation and use of Epic’s electronic health records (EHR) system.

Parkview was also recognized with cum laude status for the current version of the program, which scores users on eight different components including community health and interoperability; ease of use for nurses and providers; enterprise data and analytics; financial; infrastructure stability and performance; patient experience; and staying current with the latest features.

Epic is the nation’s leading EHR provider, used by more than one-third of acute care hospitals nationally and accounting for slightly over half of all hospital beds. Parkview has used the Epic system since 2012.

“Technology is an inseparable part of healthcare and Epic provides the tools to help our providers be accurate, efficient and effective,” said Ron Double, CIO Emeritus, Parkview Health. “Epic is constantly adding to and improving its system to respond to the needs of doctors, nurses and other users and Parkview has been a leader in partnering with Epic to test new modules, provide feedback and implement new features to make care smarter, faster and easier.”

Out of 461 organizations eligible through Epic, Parkview is one of just 23 organizations to make the honor roll on Epic’s latest version and one of only 51 nationwide health systems to make the honor roll five or more times. Making the honor roll earns Parkview a discount on its annual subscription, reducing the cost of care and increasing value for patients.

"One-on-one interactions with our patients remain at the core of great care, but the value of technology comes from connecting providers, patients and information,” said Dr. Mark Mabus,  vice president of electronic health records and chief medical informatics officer, Parkview Health. “Whether it’s tools to help physicians find the right diagnosis or treatment, the connectivity to seamlessly link providers and share information across departments and facilities, or the ability for patients to use MyChart, our technology plays a key role in delivering high-quality care and a great experience.”

Parkview has been frequently recognized for its information systems and use of technology. In 2023, Parkview received its first-ever Stage 7 certification from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society for effective implementation and use of technology and was named a Most Wired company by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives for the 10th consecutive year.

The Parkview Connect program, which allows outside organizations to access Parkview’s instance of Epic, has also been accredited for three consecutive years.
