Dr. Jamie Renbarger joins Parkview to lead precision health

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – May 23, 2025 – Dr. Jamie Renbarger has joined Parkview Health as associate chief, research and precision health, and will lead Parkview as it grows its capabilities in genomic-supported research and healthcare.Dr. Jamie Renbarger

Precision health is a comprehensive approach to healthcare that tailors prevention, diagnosis and treatment to an individual's unique genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors. Using genomics, providers match patients with a treatment that will work best for them based on their unique genetic profile.

Renbarger has previously provided coaching and development for Parkview as an outside consultant before joining the Mirro Center for Research and Innovation. Renbarger will lead the clinical research and health services and informatics (HSIR) research teams, as well as expand Parkview’s precision health and medicine programs.

“Dr. Jamie Renbarger is an excellent physician, an inspiring teacher and a prolific researcher, and one we are excited to welcome to Parkview,” said Dr. Michael Mirro, chief academic research officer, Parkview Health. “Her previous experience in precision healthcare will be invaluable as Parkview looks to grow its capabilities in using genomics to identify risks and create treatments that cater to a patient’s unique genetic makeup. Precision health is a promising new frontier that can lead to more effective and tailored care for our patients and Parkview is positioned to make advancements in this emerging field of medicine.”

Renbarger previously served as vice president of oncology and patient experience for LifeOmic Inc., a precision healthcare technology company. For 21 years, she also served as a faculty physician in pediatric hematology/oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Riley Hospital for Children, including leading the Center for Pediatric Blood and Cancer for seven years. She continues to serve as an adjunct professor of pediatrics at IUSM.

One of the first projects Renbarger will lead is the launch of DNA Insights, Parkview’s partnership with the Helix Research Network, which aims to voluntarily enroll 100,000 Parkview patients in genomic testing. Through the partnership with Helix, Parkview patients will be able to receive actionable insights and information about key risk factors for certain medical conditions based on their genetic profile. The data gathered through the program may help researchers identify trends within the population and generate proactive programs to combat prevalent risk factors.

“We are excited to have Dr. Jamie Renbarger officially join Parkview’s research team,” said Dr. Ray Dusman, president, physician and clinical enterprise, Parkview Health. “The research being conducted at the Mirro Center not only helps to advance care for our patients at Parkview, but for the global healthcare community. We are looking forward to the advancements Dr. Renbarger and her teams will be able to produce in the future.”
