LOGANSPORT, Ind. – April 17, 2026 – Garrett Jackson, MD, has joined the Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) – Neurosurgery team in Logansport and is welcoming patients at his office, 1025 Michigan Ave., Suite 215.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Jackson to Parkview Logansport and the Cass County community,” said Tara McVay, president, Parkview Logansport Hospital (PVLOG). “Being able to access important specialty services like neurosurgery close to home is such a huge benefit for area residents, and we’re fortunate to be able to add his expertise to that of our medical staff team. He brings significant experience in dealing with debilitating spine conditions, and his patients will be in very good hands.”
Jackson received his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., before going on to earn his medical degree from Indiana University (IU) in Indianapolis. He completed a neurosurgical residency at West Virginia University (WVU) Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va.
He is board certified by The American Board of Neurological Surgery.
A Lafayette-area native, Dr. Jackson practiced there for 10 years following his neurosurgery training. He cared for patients with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine at IU Health Arnett Hospital. He also served on trauma and surgical standards committees at IU Health Arnett and Franciscan Health Lafayette East, as well as on IU Health Neuro/Spine’s clinical council.
Jackson has shared his time and expertise as assistant professor and clinical associate professor of neurosurgery at IU School of Medicine; as a course instructor for cerebrovascular anatomy and neurosurgical management of hemorrhagic stroke, blood vessel malformations, and cerebral aneurysms at WVU Hospitals; and in other academic capacities. He has authored or co-authored articles for scholarly medical publications such as the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience and Experimental Neurology.
Jackson’s Logansport practice specializes in conditions affecting the spine, including spinal stenosis, herniated discs, nerve and spinal cord compression, sciatica, radiculopathy, myelopathy, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disease of the spine, and spinal fractures.
Depending on the condition, intervention may also be needed to address brain or peripheral nerve issues.
“My approach to care is focused on how the problem is affecting my patients’ ability to function,” he said. “This may include nerve pain, loss of strength and motor function, loss of sensation, or difficulty performing daily tasks at work or home. It is important to me that my patients leave the office with a cohesive plan of care and a good understanding of their neurologic problem. Surgery is the last option in many cases, and I work with my patients to explore all other options that may be available prior to surgical intervention.”
When surgery is necessary, Jackson offers microscopic surgery and minimally invasive or open surgical approaches. Performing procedures at Parkview Logansport, he uses the hospital’s 3D navigated real-time intraoperative spine imaging to provide the highest degree of safety, precision and effectiveness in spinal surgery. Common surgical procedures include microdiscectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, cervical disc replacement or fusion, cervical laminoplasty, spinal cord stimulation, vagal nerve stimulation, and kyphoplasty.
“I knew from an early age that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine, and surgery specifically,” said Jackson. “I was drawn to neurological surgery after spending time with a neurosurgeon mentor early in medical school. It was the most interesting and diverse surgical specialty that would enable me to make profound differences in a person’s life.”
Away from the office, Jackson enjoys working on his small farm, hunting and fishing, travelling, following open-wheel racing and spending time with his family.
