MARION, Ind. – Feb. 4, 2026 – Matthew McAdams, DO, has joined Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) – Internal Medicine and is now welcoming patients at the Marion clinic, 2620 S. Western Ave.
Beginning his practice here is a homecoming for McAdams, who is a Marion native.
“We’re pleased that Dr. McAdams has chosen to return to his hometown to practice,” said Deb Potempa, market president, Parkview Health South. “I’m sure many area residents will recognize him and know they can trust him to look out for their best interests because he genuinely cares about this community.”
Dr. McAdams received his medical degree from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Va. He completed an internal medicine internship at SriSai PC in Fort Wayne and his internal medicine residency with Trinity Health in Livonia, Mich.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology/pre-med from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
McAdams holds membership in the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American College of Physicians, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Indiana Osteopathic Association.
“My focus has always been on community, outpatient-centered medicine,” said McAdams. “I value continuity of care and expect to see many of my patients for decades to come.”
As an internal medicine physician, McAdams deals with many of the same concerns that primary care physicians do, but with adult patients specifically.
“Internal medicine in the outpatient setting [as opposed to a hospital environment] is a bit more focused on diving into the specialty services, such as cardiology and nephrology, which should reduce the number of doctors a patient will need to see,” he said.
A believer in the importance of volunteering to support the well-being of others, McAdams participated in a medical mission to Haiti during college, has worked at Marion’s Bridges to Health Free Health Clinic for seven years, and has served as both a board member and a garden manager for the Marion Community Garden Association.
Outside of work, McAdams shares life at his home and his family’s farm with two German shepherds and four cats, including a beloved tiger cat named KitKat. He enjoys playing bass guitar, recreational axe-throwing, landscaping and gardening. While he helps with the business of growing corn and soybeans on the farm, he spends most of his time outdoors as an arborist and is proud to have planted and maintained more than 150 trees.
“I have always believed in growing where you are planted,” he said. “I never saw the need to prove myself by leaving my hometown. Family and community are important to maintain. I am glad to be back home improving the health and lives of people in Grant County.”
