Multi-disciplinary care for those living with ALS

The Parkview ALS Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic that brings together a team of healthcare professionals specially trained to address the needs of individuals living with ALS, allowing them to receive care from each discipline during a single visit.

You may be referred to the Parkview ALS Clinic because you or a loved one has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or because your primary care physician recognizes symptoms that may lead to an ALS diagnosis. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Parkview Neurosciences is dedicated to the treatment of neurological conditions such as ALS. We will work with you and your family to improve your everyday functioning and quality of life through the changing landscape of the disease.

What to expect

At the Parkview ALS clinic, you can expect:

  • Collaborative care management in which a multidisciplinary team will complete an assessment to develop an individualized treatment plan for you. This team includes professionals with expertise in:
    • neurology
    • palliative care
    • respiratory therapy
    • nutrition
    • physical therapy
    • occupational therapy
    • speech therapy
    • social work
    • nurse care coordination
  • The convenience of being assessed by multiple team members in one visit.

Parkview Neurosciences is dedicated to the treatment of neurological conditions such as ALS. We will work with you and your family to improve your functioning and quality of life through the different phases of the disease. The ALS Clinic operates under the medical direction of Christopher Vachon, MD, Parkview Neurosciences. Dr. Vachon is board certified in adult neurology and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). He specializes in neuromuscular medicine including motor neuron diseases and other neuromuscular disorders.
