Grief and Bereavement

Grief is a normal emotional response that can last for months after a loved one’s death. Grief is a normal and natural process that we all experience in response to a loss. For some, grief can result in major changes that can be difficult to navigate. The good news is that you do not need to walk alone on this journey. Participation in hospice services with Parkview is not a requirement to utilize bereavement support services.

If you recently lost someone – whether that person received hospice services from Parkview or not – you may participate in bereavement services. Services are available at no charge for more than 12 months after you experience loss.

Services

Grief can come in many forms and no two people will grieve in exactly the same way. Bereavement support services are offered in several ways. Choose from these options:

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Family sessions
  • Regularly held support group meetings located conveniently throughout the region
  • Grief education programs and presentations
  • Community grief education workshops for churches or organizations
  • Memorial services

Individual or family sessions are currently available in Noble and LaGrange counties. To schedule, call 800-292-9894.
