Parkview Women's and Children's Hospital

We’re expecting you

Expecting a baby? You’ve come to the right place, and we’re ready for your big day. Our Family Birthing Centers make your birthing experience warm, safe and comfortable. And because every new family is different, we offer a variety of rooms to meet your special needs – from traditional birthing rooms to single-room suites with in-room whirlpool relaxation baths to high-risk rooms for moms. Each of our six Family Birthing Centers features something a little different. Be sure to look at all your options and find the best location for you.

Parkview NICU Reunion

All-private NICU rooms

Every Family Birthing Center is part of Parkview, and you can take comfort in knowing we’re ready for the unexpected. When newborns need intensive care, Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in the area that has board-certified neonatologists on site 24/7 – and all Parkview Family Birthing Centers have direct access to the NICU. Parkview’s NICU also features all-private rooms for the entire family. We even have rooms designed for twins and triplets so the whole family can stay together.

MICU Nurse Jenny Esslinger holds a former Newborn Intensive Care Unit patient at the 31st annual NICU Reunion in 2012.

Caring for your little ones as they grow

Colorful hot air balloons welcome you to our Pediatrics Unit at Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The balloons symbolize the hope we have of lifting the spirits of our children and families. Our compassionate team of experienced physicians, expert nurses and highly trained clinical staff ensure your child will receive quality care and attention. In addition, we recognize the importance of involving your entire family in the treatment of your child. After all, you’re the people who play the most important role in your child’s life. Our staff recognizes the importance of family-centered care and will work closely with you during – and after – your stay.

We frequently welcome special guests to our pediatric unit and pediatric intensive care unit. After a visit from Curious George (he must have escaped the Man in the Yellow Hat), a patient’s mom said Parkview “brings a lot of happiness and healthiness to a lot of children.”

Above and beyond

Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit serves as the region’s resource for critically ill and injured children. Physician specialists, specially-trained critical care nurses and advanced technology allow us to provide your child with the most sophisticated intensive care. The Samaritan helicopter flies many young patients to Parkview. The hospital's emergency room physicians and staff are trained in pediatric advanced-life support and are assisted by pediatric intensive-care unit nurses and the team at Parkview's Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.
