When your child is in the hospital, you may need to find a place to stay, especially if you’ve travelled a little ways to get here. As a parent, you have a few accommodation options that will keep you close to your little one, and ensure you get the rest you need during this emotional time.

Staying at the hospital

If your child is hospitalized in our pediatrics unit or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, we welcome one parent to stay with your child in the room. We provide a comfortable daybed with linens and pillows near your child’s bed, and a shower and closet are in each room.

Parkview Nutrition Services offers At Your Request Room Service Dining® children’s menu, and parents can also purchase meals for $5 each. Your meal must be ordered at the same time a parent is ordering the child’s meal. A free breastfeeding tray is available for moms who are breastfeeding their hospitalized baby. You should allow 45 minutes for meal delivery.

You also are welcome to use laundry, shower and kitchen facilities in our in-hospital Ronald McDonald House®, even if you’re not staying in the Ronald McDonald House.

Staying at the Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House® at Parkview Regional Medical Center offers you a home-away-from-home if your child is ill or injured. Hospital staff refers guests to the Ronald McDonald House, and there is no charge to the families who stay in the House. If you are interested, ask your nurse for more details.

Staying at a local hotel

If you (or additional family members) plan to stay at a hotel, you will need to make arrangements for your accommodations. A number of hotels are located within a short distance of Parkview Regional Medical Center campus, where the pediatrics unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Units are located.
