A conversation about prayer and meditation

In a recent study, Pew Research Center found that 55% of adults reported practicing some form of prayer at least daily. A report using data from the 2017 National Health Interview Survey found that 14.2% of adults were engaging in some form of meditation regularly. While the act might look different for different people, the majority of the population is carving out time for quiet reflection, connection or setting thoughtful intentions.

In this second installment of a three-part video series about the complicated feelings we experience during times of illness or loss, Dave Johnson, PhD, CNS- BC, LMFT, employee assistance specialist, and Jon Swanson, PhD, chaplain, Parkview Health, share their perspectives on the role prayer, mindfulness or meditation play in those moments of pain or pause.
