Preparing for Childbirth Weekend Intensive Class

Preparation is the key to having a confident, persnoally satisfying birthing experience. To help you prepare for this life-changing event, Parkview offers a prenatal education class designed to assist you and your partner in exploring the physical, emotional and social aspects of birth. Partners are encouraged to attend.

To help you prepare for childbirth, this class covers the following:

  • Process of labor and birth
  • Relaxation and breathing techniques 
  • Pain management options
  • Physical and emotional changes

This course is offered on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Parkview DeKalb Hospital Family Birthing Center conference room 2nd floor. For more information, or to register, call 260-920-2780.

Breastfeeding Support Group - Parkview Regional Medical Center (Fridays)

This group meets every Tuesday evening (7-8 pm) in the Family Birthing Center conference room, and Friday morning (9-10 am) at Entrance 4 in the third-floor conference room. Excluding holidays.

This is a drop-in group, no appointment needed (Mom and baby preferred).   Lactation consultants are available to help with breast feeding needs, weight-based feeding assessment and pumping concerns.

Mom's Group

Mom’s Group is a support group where moms can go to have their baby weighed, have questions answered by a Parkview lactation consultant and RN, and interact with other moms. Mom’s Group also features crafts for moms to do with their children.
