Basic and Beyond Parenting Class

Maternity & Parenting

Parkview Whitley Hospital Parenting Class combines basic parenting information and tips from Parkview’s Safe Slumber program. This is an interactive class that introduces parents to basic infant care and partners are strongly encouraged to attend. Topics include:

  • Infant care skills
  • Calming a crying baby
  • Benefits of skin to skin
  • Car seat safety
  • Safe sleep practices
  • Infant CPR & choking

Breastfeeding Support Group - Parkview Regional Medical Center (Fridays)

This group meets every Tuesday evening (7-8 pm) in the Family Birthing Center conference room, and Friday morning (9-10 am) at Entrance 4 in the third-floor conference room. Excluding holidays.

This is a drop-in group, no appointment needed (Mom and baby preferred).   Lactation consultants are available to help with breast feeding needs, weight-based feeding assessment and pumping concerns.

Mom's Group

Mom’s Group is a support group where moms can go to have their baby weighed, have questions answered by a Parkview lactation consultant and RN, and interact with other moms. Mom’s Group also features crafts for moms to do with their children.
