Her Heart Support Network

Center for Healthy Living, Heart Healthy Events, Support Groups

The Her Heart Support Network is facilitated by trained heart health experts. Our group offers peer support and education to women of all ages who have survived a heart-related event or been diagnosed with heart disease. Learn from one another, build lasting friendships and gain resources from trained heart health advocates.

The group is here to:

  • Encourage you.
  • Help you discover new strengths.
  • Connect you with other women who understand your experiences.
  • Share health information.
  • Connect you with community resources.

The Her Heart Support Network meets on the second Thursday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Entrance 10, fifth floor, Conference room 3, at the Parkview Heart Institute. Zoom meetings are available for all sessions except for July and December. To receive more information about the Her Heart Support Network, call 260-266-6153.

Stroke Support Group

The Stroke Survivors Support Group focuses on enriching the lives of people affected by stroke through:

  • Educational presentations by guest speakers
  • Group discussions
  • Problem-solving to address everyday challenges
  • Assistance in accessing community support
  • Social activities

Family members are also welcome to participate.

Grief Support Group (Allen County)

Meet with a grief counselor and others who have recently experienced a loss at a support group meeting. Meetings occur every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the PACH Conference Room at Parkview Randallia Hospital, 2200 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne. Participants should use ground floor entrance 2 to access the PACH room.

Men's Heart Support Group

Brave Hearts: A focus group for men with heart disease

Heart disease continues to be a leading cause of death in the United States. At Parkview Heart Institute, we know that living with heart disease can be stressful, and making the right lifestyle changes can require guidance and support.

Join Brave Hearts: A focus group for men with heart disease. Here, men gather in an open forum to ask questions and share experiences and ideas for adjusting to life after being diagnosed with heart disease. Each month includes a new topic or event focusing on healthy living, exercise, nutrition, stress reduction, smoking cessation and more.

Register by emailing Michelle Wood at michelle.wood@parkview.com. The group will meet at the Parkview Heart Institute, 5th floor, conference room 2.
