Youth Summer Program: Farm Friends Open House

Center for Healthy Living, Community Greenhouse & Learning Kitchen

Farm Friends is a hands-on farm-to-fork program series for students entering sixth through ninth grade in the 2026-2027 school year. Sessions will be held on June 3, June 17, July 8, and July 22 from noon – 2 p.m.

Through their participation, students will:

  • Learn more about where food comes from
  • Build basic cooking skills
  • Explore how plant-forward eating and farming support long-term health
  • Spend time learning in both the garden and the kitchen

The Farm Friends Open House is designed to help families learn more about the program. During the open house, attendees will:

  • Receive an overview of the four-session series
  • Meet the Farm Friends team
  • Sample recipes from the program
  • Tour the Parkview Community Greenhouse & Learning Kitchen

Open house attendance is recommended for those interested in Farm Friends. If you are unable to attend the open house but would like to sign up for the program, please call the registration number below.

Community Plant Giveaway

Ready to get your garden growing? Students from Fort Wayne Community Schools AMP Lab, in partnership with Parkview Community Greenhouse & Learning Kitchen, will share vegetable and herb seedlings, as well as ready-to-grow potted plants with the community for free! Students will be on site to answer questions and offer growing tips. Whether you’re planting your very first pot or adding a few more friends to your garden, we’d love to see you there. Plants will be available while supplies last, so come early and leave with something green!

Breastfeeding Support Group (Tuesdays)

Breastfeeding is a journey that is different for everyone. Whether you're a first-time mom or a mom to five, sometimes the journey can be overwhelming. Parkview's lactation consultants help pumping or breastfeeding mothers reach their breastfeeding goals with free support. This group allows for a drop-in style of scheduling – no need to make an appointment, just come during our available times. Stay for a short assessment or the whole hour and make some friends; the choice is yours!
