Dave Johnson, PhD, CNS, BC, LMFT, Parkview Center for Healthy Living, invites us to take a thoughtful beat before moving onto the next task.
Watch the video: Mindful Reset: Statio Meditation
Statio requires a bit of practice noticing. It asks us to stop.
It seems like our lives have accelerated. We have habituated moving from one thing to the next as fast as we can. And yet, there is a space between letting go of where we were and what we were doing and what's next.
Statio requires us to just stop and notice.
Sometimes it's picking up your mug.
Sometimes it's breathing my body.
Sometimes it's just an emotion or a movement.
Sometimes it's calling into question, what is my purpose here? Am I prepared?
The stopping and pausing is needed in our mindful practice of becoming present to our lives.
