Cancer, Heart Health

“Precision Health today, as I think about it, involves not only precision medicine, right? Using medicines as safely and effectively as we can, but also using genomics to support people to understand their risk for developing disease. And then to make lifestyle modifications to support them to stay healthy.”  – Jamie Renbarger, MD, Chief Precision Health, Parkview Health

The goal of DNA Insights is to improve access to personalized healthcare designed for you and your family, and to support new research discoveries for a healthier community. Participation is completely voluntary. Because this is a research program, DNA screening is offered at no cost to you and health insurance is not required.

Your genes (DNA) are the special code that makes you who you are. If you choose to participate in DNA Insights, you will be asked to provide a blood sample and will receive confidential results about your genetic risk for certain cancers, such as breast and ovarian, as well as a cause of heart disease that can run in families. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about your regional ancestry and genetic traits (like caffeine sensitivity and sleep patterns.) Signing up is quick, easy and at no cost to you.

Your privacy is our priority. We take great care to keep your information safe and secure and will not share personal data beyond what you have consented to.

We know you may have questions. Drs. Jamie Renbarger and Alan Yahanda, MD, president, Parkview Family Cancer Institute, are here discussing DNA Insights and the unique opportunities research like this can present, including improved healthcare and a more personalized plan for you and your family.
