Parkview Health wins Environmental Services Department of the Year from Association for the Health Care Environment

FORT WAYNE, IND. – (July 8, 2019) – The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), an organization of the American Hospital Association, has named Parkview Health the 2019 Environmental Services Department of the Year.

According to the AHE, the award provides national recognition for the significant contributions made by an environmental services department to the overall patient experience and achieving a health care organization's mission. It highlights the outstanding achievements of a cutting-edge environmental services team in maintaining high levels of performance in cleaning, disinfecting, infection prevention, environmental sustainability and stewardship, technology use, patient satisfaction, education and training in critical areas.

“Our environmental services team plays a vital role in providing excellent service to every person every day. We are fortunate to have a team of co-workers with servants’ hearts,” said Dan Malloy, corporate director, Environmental Services, Parkview Health. “I’m blessed to work with an outstanding team that continuously strives to improve the patient, visitor and co-worker experience.”

This is the first time Parkview Health has received the Environmental Services Department of the Year award, winning in the 500-plus hospital beds category.
