Parkview Stanley Wissman Stroke Center Receives Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from DNV GL - Healthcare

FORT WAYNE, IND. (July 26, 2018) – The Parkview Stanley Wissman Stroke Center, located on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus, has received certification from DNV GL - Healthcare as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, reflecting the highest level of quality for the treatment of serious stroke events.

“Due to the time-critical nature of stroke, it’s important to have expert clinicians and the most advanced treatment options on your side,” says Fen-Lei Chang, MD, PhD, medical director, Parkview Neurosciences, Parkview Health; and neurologist with Parkview Physicians Group. “This certification from DNV GL demonstrates that Parkview is dedicated to quality care and the best possible outcome for each individual affected by stroke.”

The DNV GL - Healthcare Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification is based on standards set forth by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association, and affirms that hospitals who achieve comprehensive certification address the full spectrum of stroke care – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education – and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.

“Achieving certification shows commitment to excellence,” says Patrick Horine, CEO of DNV GL - Healthcare. “And it helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”

“The Parkview Stanley Wissman Stroke Center has a tradition of providing award-winning care,” said Jolynn Suko, MPH, senior vice president, Neurosciences and Virtual Health, Parkview Health. “A stroke can be traumatic for an individual and their family. With this certification, Parkview’s stroke patients can be reassured that they will have access to the most advanced treatment options and talented providers.”

About the Parkview Stanley Wissman Stroke Center
