At Parkview, we believe your birthing experience should be as warm, safe and comfortable as possible. That’s why our Family Birthing Center at Parkview Women’s & Children’s Hospital on the campus of Parkview Regional Medical Center not only provides state-of-the-art technology, but abundant amenities as well. And because every new family is different, we offer a variety of rooms to meet your unique needs — from traditional birthing rooms to single-room suites with in-room relaxation baths. Suites are also available for moms with high-risk pregnancies.
Every Family Birthing Center is part of Parkview, and you can take comfort in knowing we’re ready for the unexpected. When newborns need intensive care, Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in the area that has board-certified neonatologists on site 24/7 – and all Parkview Family Birthing Centers have direct access to the NICU. Parkview’s NICU also features all-private rooms for the entire family. We even have rooms designed for twins and triplets so the whole family can stay together.
Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit serves as the region’s resource for critically ill and injured children. Physician specialists, specially-trained critical care nurses and advanced technology allow us to provide your child with the most sophisticated intensive care. The Samaritan helicopter flies many young patients to Parkview. The hospital's emergency room physicians and staff are trained in pediatric advanced-life support and are assisted by pediatric intensive-care unit nurses and the team at Parkview's Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.
When your child is in the hospital, you may need to find a place to stay, especially if you’ve travelled a distance to get here. As a parent, you have a few accommodation options that will keep you close to your little one, and ensure you get the rest you need during this emotional time.
Staying at the hospital
If your child is hospitalized in our pediatrics unit or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, we welcome one parent to stay with your child in the room. We provide a comfortable daybed with linens and pillows near your child’s bed, and a shower and closet are in each room.
Parkview Nutrition Services offers At Your Request Room Service Dining® children’s menu, and parents can also purchase meals. Your meal must be ordered at the same time a parent is ordering the child’s meal. A free breastfeeding tray is available for moms who are breastfeeding their hospitalized baby.
You also are welcome to use laundry, shower and kitchen facilities in our in-hospital Ronald McDonald House®, even if you’re not staying in the Ronald McDonald House.
Staying at the Ronald McDonald House ®
The Ronald McDonald House® at Parkview Regional Medical Center offers you a home-away-from-home if your child is ill or injured. Hospital staff refer guests to the Ronald McDonald House, and there is no charge to the families who stay in the House. If you are interested, ask your nurse for more details.
Staying at a local hotel
If you (or additional family members) plan to stay at a hotel, you will need to make arrangements for your accommodations. Several hotels are located within a short distance of Parkview Regional Medical Center campus, where the pediatrics unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Units are located.
