LESS invasive, MORE results

The new intragastric balloon helps you lose weight.

Minimally invasive intragastric balloon is first in the state.

For those who need more than diet and exercise, Parkview offers a new weight loss option. The intragastric balloon is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional bariatric surgery. It’s FDA approved. It’s been successfully used around the world for more than 20 years. And Dr. Scheible is the first in Indiana to offer it. Here’s how it works. A small balloon is inserted endoscopically in the stomach and filled with saline, helping the patient to feel full. For the next 12 months, the patient receives the same diet and exercise coaching as other program participants. After six months, the balloon is removed and the patient continues to receive coaching on their path to creating healthy, lifelong habits.

Benefits of the intragastric balloon include:

• Non-surgical, endoscopic procedure

• First of its kind in Indiana

• FDA approved

• Outpatient procedure; takes about 30 minutes

• Helps patient feel full

Greg Scheible, MD, was the first doctor in Indiana, and among the first in the country, to perform the intragastric balloon procedure. He is board certified in gastroenterology and obesity medicine.
