Introducing a mobile heart screening coach
If you’re proactive about your health, you may already eat healthy and engage in regular physical activity. But have you taken part in screenings that could identify your risk for heart disease and stroke?
Parkview Heart Institute is pleased to introduce a mobile coach to bring common health screenings from a healthcare setting to convenient, public locations. A team of four health professionals provide services aboard the mobile coach: two ultrasound technicians and two medical technicians. In less than an hour, a team member can perform five ultrasound screenings in one of two private exam rooms.
Several screening packages are offered, including ultrasound screenings of the heart and arteries.
12-lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) ̶ Provides a picture of the heart’s electrical activity, which may predict pending heart attack, irregular heart rhythms and more
ASI (Hardening of the arteries) ̶ Measures the flexibility or hardening of the arteries
Carotid artery ultrasound ̶ Examines the carotid arteries in the neck to detect the presence of plaque, one of the leading causes of stroke
Peripheral artery disease test ̶ Measures blood circulation to arms and legs. Poor circulation increases the risk for heart attack or stroke
Abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound ̶ Checks for aneurysms in the abdomen. A four-hour fast is required
These five screenings are among the basic package for the reduced cost of $139. In addition the basic package includes:
Results will provide practical information so you can safeguard your health against future heart disease or detect and treat heart concerns early. You can even request that results are sent to your physician.
Parkview Heart Institute has partnered with HealthFair, based in Winter Park, Fla., to bring the Joint Commission-accredited mobile coach to northeast Indiana.
