Asthma Management

Gaining Control of Your Child’s Asthma

There’s almost nothing as frightening to a child – or to you as a parent – as his not being able to breathe. But for many, this is an all-too-frequent part of life. Asthma is the leading chronic illness among children, affecting nearly 7 million kids. Children who have asthma can still lead fun, active lives. The key is learning ways to manage the condition and it’s symptoms.

That’s why we created Gaining Control of Your Child’s Asthma. This asthma management program designed to help you learn to control your child’s asthma and reduce symptoms so your child can stay as health and active as possible.

You can learn more about:

  • Asthma and breathing

  • Early warning signs of an asthma episode

  • Managing an asthma episode

  • Recognizing and controlling triggers

  • Asthma-control medicines and delivery devices

  • Managing asthma away from home

  • Using a written asthma action plan

Parkview Health offers several Gaining Control of Your Child’s Asthma classes throughout the year. For dates, times and locations, visit the Parkview Community Events Calendar or check out this flyer .
