Parkview Health and Neighborhood Health Clinics are excited to announce the opening of the Parkview Neighborhood Health Center. Located at 3350 East Paulding Road, the newly constructed 7,500 square foot facility will be home to a number of health and well-being related services.
Neighborhood Health Clinics will lease and occupy approximately 6,200 square feet. This space will serve as a satellite office for Neighborhood Health Clinics and will include medical clinic services with plans for WIC offices opening later in 2014 and dental clinic services opening in early 2015. Neighborhood Health Clinics is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Northeast Indiana. The area surrounding the new site at 3350 E. Paulding Road has few medical or dental providers and is designated as a Medically Underserved Population Area (MUP).
The Parkview Center for Healthy Living will occupy approximately 1,300 square feet of the facility. Services to be provided by staff at this Center for Healthy Living office include safe sleep, diabetes, asthma, nutrition and CPR education. Smoking cessation, exercise samplers and cooking demos will also be provided at this office.
“We’ve been working with leaders at the Neighborhood Health Clinics for many months to identify how we could partner to provide these services in the southeast community,” said Ben Miles, Chief Operating Officer, Parkview Regional Medical Center & Affiliates. “Working with leaders in the southeast community, we were also able to identify many health and well-being related resources community members were seeking. We’re happy to have a new facility that can help Parkview bring those resources closer to those who need them.”
“The mission of Neighborhood Health Clinics is to identify the needs of and to provide quality health care services to the community with respect and sensitivity to those being served. This new site will enable us to meet more of the needs for primary health care to those who face barriers to accessing this care,” said Mary S. Haupert, President/CEO. “We appreciate the collaboration with Parkview that allows us to open this site to serve Southeast Fort Wayne.”
Construction on the Parkview Neighborhood Health Center was completed in late February and Neighborhood Health Clinics saw their first patients beginning on March 4. The Parkview Center for Healthy Living offices are scheduled to be open and in service by mid-April. Parkview Hospital Randallia donated nearly $200,000 in furnishings and equipment towards the medical and dental clinics and WIC offices.
