Parkview LiVe sponsors Ft. Wayne Farmers Market

Ft. Wayne’s Farmers Market (FWFM) is pleased to announce that Parkview LiVe has become the corporate sponsor for FWFM’s summer satellite markets at Parkview North, New Haven, Georgetown and Jefferson Pointe as well FWFM’s downtown Wednesday market at One Summit Square, downtown Saturday summer market and the 2013-2014 downtown winter market.

“We are grateful to Parkview LiVe for their sponsorship and support of our mission,” said Leigh Rowan, Market Coordinator. “Our mission is to promote the health benefits of and to provide access to fresh, local produce, foods, natural products as well as arts and  crafts to the general populace by providing an outlet for local producers to sell their products directly to customers; to assist in the economic development of Fort Wayne and the surrounding region; to provide opportunities for small businesses to grow and prosper; to provide access to fresh, locally grown produce and foods to the low income community by partnering with nonprofits who serve those populations; and to combat food deserts in our region. It was a natural fit to partner with Parkview Health given their long term and generous commitment to Fort Wayne and the surrounding region.”

“We are excited to partner with FWFM to promote access to fresh and local produce” said Tai Felger, Community Outreach Coordinator for Parkview LiVe. “Farmers markets support healthy habits including one of the most important, eating more fruits and vegetables. We’re also happy to support local and regional vendors in an effort to support our local community members.”

FWFM is honored to be able to contribute to Fort Wayne’s long and celebrated history of farmers markets and is grateful for the community’s overwhelming support and enthusiasm for the standards FWFM operates under. FWFM encourages the community to “Buy Local, Buy Fresh” at every opportunity, including supporting other farmers markets.
