Parkview’s Pharmacy Department is noted for its early adoption of automated technologies, including:

  • Pyxis® MedStationsTM

  • Talyst’s Autopack®

  • Autopharm® inventory management software with vertical carousels

  • Baxa EM 2400TM TPN compounder

Pharmacists have daily opportunities to provide anticoagulation monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, infection control and nutritional support services. Parkview Health’s pharmacy offers a progressive pharmaceutical care environment in a variety of practice settings, including inpatient pharmacy, specialty clinics and such satellite pharmacies as surgical clinics and such satellite pharmacies as surgical care and critical care.

In addition, Parkview offers an ASHP-accredited residency program.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Parkview has been trained pharmacy residents from a variety of schools since 1996. Each year, Parkview’s Department of Pharmacy accepts four new pharmacy residents into the program.  Learn more.

A PGY1 Residency at Parkview Health provides residents:

  • Training in a health system consisting of more than 700 inpatient beds at seven hospitals

  • Majority of training at Parkview Regional Medical Center, a 440-bed private room acute care, Level II adult and pediatric trauma center

  • Pharmacy Department personnel that are committed to education and patient care

  • Fourteen highly trained clinical specialists as preceptors and 24 talented clinical generalists as mentors

  • A wide range of clinical and non-patient care rotations to complete

  • Multiple PGY1 residents each year

  • The ability to share precepting and didactic teaching responsibilities for Doctor of Pharmacy students

  • A year of continual, longitudinal development

  • Experience of an ASHP-accredited program
