Is Ortho Express for you?

Sports & Exercise, Family Medicine

We know that sprains and tears happen when you least expect them. That’s why we opened the Parkview Ortho Express walk-in clinic for same-day orthopedic and sports injury care — all without a referral or appointment.

At Parkview Ortho Express, located at the Parkview/SportONE Fieldhouse, our physician assistants can address the issue right away by providing diagnostics, x-rays, treatment, referrals and coordinated care to get you back on the road to recovery.

Parkview Ortho Express is equipped to provide quick attention for musculoskeletal and sports related injuries such as:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Suspected broken bones
  • Joint pain
  • Tendon and ligament injuries
  • Foot, ankle, wrist, elbow, hand and shoulder pain
  • Neck and back pain

For more on Ortho Express, we invited Jodi Chambers, PA-C, Ortho Express, to answer a few questions.

What was Parkview’s goal when opening Ortho Express?

We wanted to identify injury and conditions quickly, give treatment options and keep the patient participating at a level that makes them feel comfortable.

Who can seek treatment at Ortho Express?

We should be the first stop for orthopedic injuries. A non-orthopedic clinic will likely refer you here for definitive treatment. Ortho Express is not just for athletes. We can see any acute or chronic injury, though for long term treatment of chronic conditions, we would likely send a patient to the orthopedic practice.

What can a patient expect if they need additional care?

If a patient needs follow up outside of our practice, such as a surgical consultation, we have designated care navigators to assist in making that transition as easy as possible.

Do you treat chronic pain?

We do not. We can see acute or chronic back pain, but do not handle chronic pain.

Who is on the Ortho Express team?

We have two orthopedic physician assistants, both with 20 years of experience, who have worked in surgery with Ortho NorthEast sports surgeons.

What are some of the services available?

In addition to injury care, we offer same-day x-rays, dexa (DXA) scans for body composition and sports nutrition consultations.
