Parkview Huntington Hospital

Emergency Department

Parkview Huntington Hospital’s Emergency Department features an emergency center physician who leads a team of emergency room (ER) nurses and other medical personnel on duty 24 hours a day. Our ER is staffed by emergency trained physicians from Professional Emergency Physicians, Inc.

We combine high quality medical equipment and technology with experienced professional staff to bring trusted emergency care to Huntington County.

  • Nine private beds
  • Annual volume – 14,500 visits per year
  • 5 Star Award from Professional Research Consultants, 2008, rated in the top 10 percent of emergency departments nationally in “Overall Quality of Care.”
  • Our ED nurses are specifically trained and certified in CPR, trauma, cardiac, stroke and pediatric emergency nursing.

Wound treatment
Specialized wound/ostomy treatment is available from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday in a designated area of the Emergency Department. This care from an experienced wound care professional often results in decreased healing time for patients with conditions such as diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers and ostomy-related skin problems. With an order from a family physician, patients can be treated in our Wound Care Clinic without having to travel out of the area.
