Research is a vital component of the Parkview trauma program because of implications for quality patient care, proper utilization of healthcare services, quality registry data and prevention efforts. Parkview Hospital has engaged in trauma research since it was initially verified as a level II trauma center in May 2000. Parkview Trauma Centers are among the elite few trauma centers nationwide whose staffs include a trauma epidemiologist dedicated to research, data validation and tracking trends related to traumatic injury.
