Dr. Hisham S. Elhassan was born in Khartoum, Sudan. He earned his medical degree from the University of Gezira in Wad Madani, Sudan.
He completed his general surgery residency at Huron Hospital/Cleveland Clinic Hospital Cleveland, Ohio. Then, he completed his fellowship for Colon and Rectal Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital/Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Elhassan joined Parkview Physicians Group in 2007.
Dr. Elhassan is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He holds memberships with the Fort Wayne Medical Society, Indiana State Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Elhassan is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Elhassan’s main areas of interest include robotic-assisted/laparoscopic colorectal surgery and colonoscopy.
