Ortho

Club Ortho

Club Ortho is a free patient therapy and recovery program created especially for the active, healthy adult who requires total joint or spine surgery.

Designed for the patient’s comfort, members are encouraged to have a family member serve as “coach” to assist them with activities and therapies.

Members and coaches attend classes together to learn about the member’s surgery and rehabilitation. Questions are encouraged at all the Club Ortho events for more interactive learning.

After surgery, members return to their regular daily activities as soon as possible. Nurses, therapists and the member’s orthopaedic physician coordinate pain medication based on the individual’s activity level. Club Ortho members are most often discharged from the hospital two or three days after the operation. Parkview’s Surgical Care Coordinators assist with the patient’s needs after surgery and after leaving the hospital.

Through the Club Ortho education process, members learn to expect the best outcomes and they learn how important their role is in their own success. Participants can enjoy a celebration meal celebrating the successful completion of their program.
