- Speech pathologists care for patients who have problems with speaking, swallowing, writing, thinking and reasoning skills.
- Certified rehabilitation registered nurses are specialists in rehabilitation who provide daily care.
- Certified brain injury specialists are highly trained in delivering quality care tailored to the needs of patients with brain injuries. These specialists represent a variety of disciplines: rehab nursing, rehab case coordination, neuropsychology, clinical education, clinical nursing, and physical, occupational and speech therapy.
- Registered nurses and other nursing staff members are experienced in caring for the particular needs, and promoting the independence, of rehabilitation patients.
- Neuropsychologists provide testing and counseling for patients and their families to help them cope with new lifestyle limitations. They also work with the school system to reintegrate injured children back into the classroom.
- Nurse practitioners are master’s degree-prepared nursing specialists who offer patients and families personalized educational opportunities.
