Community Health Improvement

Community Health Improvement dollars enable Parkview Behavioral Health to provide the following activities:

Drug and alcohol awareness programs offered in area high schools during the fall

  • Local high school students are able to participate in interactive presentations on drug and alcohol awareness, the importance of integrity, and other topics related to ethical behavior and character during school assemblies. The presentations make use of large video screens, top-quality graphics and compelling stories to engage the students with the message. Students participate in follow-up discussions in their classes. Parkview Behavioral Health co-sponsors the presentations with the Drug & Alcohol Consortium of Allen County.

Participation as a sponsor of the Chip Novak Golf Outing to benefit the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)

  • The annual golf tournament honors three-time Fort Wayne Golf Association City Championship winner Chip Novak, who was inducted into the FWGA Hall of Fame in 2007 for his achievements despite having struggled with schizophrenia since the age of 17. The Chip Novak Golf Outing raises funds to support education, advocacy and support group activities of the Fort Wayne chapter of NAMI, which strives to improve the lives of people living with serious mental illness.
