Trauma Center

Here When You Need Us Most

Parkview Regional Medical Center opens Saturday, March 17, 2012. On that day, all critical care units and many specialty care departments will move from Parkview Hospital Randallia to the new regional medical center. Included in this move are the Parkview adult and pediatric trauma centers. Trauma services will be provided at the new medical center effective as of that date.

A 24/7 emergency department will remain at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Many other medical services will also continue to be provided at Parkview Hospital Randallia. If you are uncertain about the location of a service for an appointment or scheduled procedure, call the switchboard at (260) 266-1000 or Parkview Health Scheduling at (877) 225-5747 or (260) 373-8900. A phone representative will assist you. It is recommended that you call at least 24 hours before your intended arrival.

As the first trauma center in the state outside of Indianapolis, Parkview is recognized as the leader in the care of injured patients.  The Parkview Trauma Center was initially verified by the American College of Surgeons in 2000, followed by verification of its Pediatric Trauma Center in 2003. Parkview achieved re-verification in 2006 and 2009.  With its dedication to taking care of injured patients, Parkview’s trauma team is alerted 24/7 and standing ready to begin immediate treatment when an injured patient arrives.

How is a trauma center different? Because of the level of teamwork by the following specialists, the Parkview Adult Trauma Center and Parkview Pediatric Trauma Center can provide immediate medical care any time traumatic injury occurs:

  • General surgeons
  • Board-certified emergency physicians
  • Orthopedic surgeons
  • Neurosurgeons
  • Anesthesiologists
  • Radiologists
  • Pediatric critical care specialist
  • Pediatric surgeon
  • Cardiovascular surgeons
  • Trauma epidemiologist
  • TNCC and CEN nursing staff
(Trauma Nursing Core Course/Certified Emergency Nurse)

Parkview Trauma Centers are also at the forefront of trauma prevention. Recent initiatives include “Helmets — All the Pros Wear Them,” “Don’t Drink and Drive," Don’t Text and Driveand "Share the Road." Working to provide the best possible lifesaving care. Working for safer communities. Parkview’s here when you need us most.
