Volunteer Positions
Volunteers play an important role at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. Many of Parkview LaGrange’s volunteers are retirees, but adults of all ages have the opportunity to volunteer. The only prerequisite is that the volunteers like to share their time and talents and that they have a positive outlook on life.
Types of volunteer activities vary. We make every effort to match your skills with the volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers work four-hour shifts.
Available Positions
Emergency Room Information Desk Volunteer
Greet incoming patients and visitors, and offer assistance with directions and other information.
Hours: Sunday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon, noon to 4 p.m., and 4 to 8 p.m.
Gift Shop Volunteer
Help serve customers, patiently and courteously, including helping them with purchase.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and noon to 4 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Outpatient Surgery Waiting Area Volunteer
Greet incoming patients and visitors, and provide concern, courtesy and comfort for those in the waiting area.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon
Transport/Messenger Volunteer
Greet and direct patients, assist staff with deliveries, transport patients between departments, and make rounds with the afternoon hospitality cart to inpatients and their visitors.
Hours: Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m.
Courtesy Shuttle Volunteer
Provide transportation to any patient, visitor or staff member to and from the hospital’s main entrance.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon
Other Departmental Volunteer
Volunteers also serve in our Administration, Medical Records, Nutritional Services and Infection Control departments. Hours and duties vary.
