New volunteer programs and positions are always being developed. Fill out the volunteer application, and we will work hard to find a volunteer assignment that's just right for you.
Job Titles
Emergency Room/Triage Information Desk:
- Greet customers
- Assist families/patients
- Communicate with staff
- Maintain coffee
- Perform clerical work as needed
Gift Shop:
- Assist prospective buyers of merchandise
- Operate cash register and credit/debit card reader
- Maintain displays
Health Information Services (HIS):
- Alphabetize paperwork
- Assist in maintaining medical records
Homebound Meals program:
- Assist in delivering meals to shut-ins
- Volunteers at the Main Lobby Information Desk are asked to:
- Greet visitors with a smile
- Escort visitors to various locations in the hospital and medical office building
- Assist visitors
- Check outpatient registration log and escort patients to the correct area
- Deliver flowers and mail to patients
- Run errands
- Perform clerical tasks
- Maintain appearance of front lobby
- Distribute magazines
Medical Office Building Information Desk:
- Greet visitors with a smile
- Assist visitors and escort them to destinations when necessary
- Assist doctors’ offices with discharged patients using wheelchairs
- Distribute magazines
- Perform clerical tasks
Shredding/Clerical Assistants:
- Assist with clerical duties
- Help shred confidential documents
Surgical Hosts:
- Assist waiting families
- Greet and anticipate family needs
- Monitor families’ locations

Also, volunteers can become members of the Guild, a dedicated group of volunteers and friends of the hospital that raises money through gift shop sales. Funds raised are used for various projects within the hospital as well as college scholarships.
