Parkview Whitley Hospital has put out the call for photos from the Whitley County community. As it moves closer to the completion of its new hospital, Parkview Whitley Hospital has begun the process of searching for photos to matt, frame and hang on the walls throughout the new facility.

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit photos of landscapes, architecture, industry, people, places, sporting events, or school and community activities. Any subject matter reflecting the culture of Whitley County, past and present, will be considered.

“Decorating the hospital with local photographic images is our way of celebrating the rich heritage, beauty and community diversity in Whitley County,” said Scott Gabriel, Parkview Whitley hospital chief operating officer. “We believe this will contribute to a healing environment and help our patients, visitors, staff and physicians feel at home.”

The deadline for submissions is April 14, 2011.

Photo specifications are:

• All photos must be submitted as high-resolution digital images, 300 to 600 dpi. You may submit a print of your photo, but ultimately the image must be submitted as a digital image file.
• Photos may be black and white or color, new or vintage.
• Photographs that include people must be submitted with a photo release signed by the individual(s) in the photo.
• There is no limit to the number of photographs that may be submitted

How to submit your photo(s):

• Visit www.parkview.com to submit your photos online or e-mail your photo and all required information to whitley.photos@parkview.com.
• If you want to submit a print first, followed by a digital file, please send your print to:

• You must provide the following information with your e-mail submission:   
• Your name, preferred telephone number.
• Names and a signed Photo and Personal Information Release Form for any people in your photo (sign and mail the Photo and Personal Information Release Form to the address listed at the bottom of the form, which is available at http://www.parkview.com/Locations/ParkviewWhitleyHospital/Pages/Callingallphotographers!.aspx.
• A brief explanation about the photograph, and include where and when the photograph was taken.

What to expect:

• If your photo is selected for use in the new Parkview Whitley Hospital, you will be contacted. Please do not contact the hospital to inquire about your entry.
• Photos will be on display in the new hospital in time for the October 2011 Grand Opening.
• All finalists will be featured on the Parkview Whitley Hospital website. Photographer names and information about each photo will be included.
• If your work is selected, it will be recognized through our use of social media, our website and other as-yet-undetermined means of communication, and you will receive an honorarium for the rights to print and display the photo(s).

The fine print:

• Owners of historical photographs that are accepted for use will be required to grant written permission for use of photographs.
• All photos submitted, either digital or prints, and all matted and framed photo prints become the property of Parkview Whitley Hospital and will not be returned to you.
• All decisions regarding which photos are used by the hospital are final.
