Columbia City, Ind. – Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 — The new Parkview Whitley Hospital will open to patients and families on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Today, leaders from Parkview Whitley Hospital led a media tour of the $42 million, 165,500 square-foot new hospital, attached medical plaza and stand-alone ambulance building.
The new hospital is located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and State Road 205 in Columbia City.
Parkview Whitley Hospital highlights:
- 30 beds with all private rooms
- First floor of the hospital features an outpatient service center, patient registration, emergency department, surgery, imaging, and radiology
- Three surgical suites
- Larger, more efficient emergency department
- Inpatient rooms are located on the second floor
- Obstetrics
- Sleep disorders lab
- Smart bed technology
- A four-bed critical care unit
- Three community rooms for meetings and community activities
A public open house will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9. The address for the new hospital is 1260 E. State Road 205.
The lead contractor for the project was Hagerman Construction of Fort Wayne.
