8/5/2010

KENDALLVILLE – By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Parkview Noble Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.

Founded in 1951, the Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of our nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation. The Joint Commission’s on-site survey of Parkview Noble Hospital occurred in February of this year.

“Above all, the national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization’s performance and the outcomes of care,” says Mark Pelletier, R.N., M.S, executive director, Hospital Programs, Accreditation and Certification Services, The Joint Commission. “The community should be proud that Parkview Noble Hospital is focusing on the most challenging goal—to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels.”

Dave Hunter, Chief Operating Officer Parkview Noble Hospital spoke of his pride in the staff that has embraced a culture of quality. "They were proud to show off their hospital to the Joint Commission.  In addition, they appreciated the educational aspect of the survey and the opportunity to interact with the team of surveyors."

Hunter praised the Parkview Noble staff for the survey results. “The Joint Commission surveyors were impressed by the dedication to our patient care planning, attention to quality, customer service, coordination of services and friendliness and compassion of the hospital staff. We received very favorable and complimentary remarks both during the survey and in the wrap-up session,” he said. “We are very proud of our staff, management, physicians and board who have shown that providing the safe and effective quality patient care is indeed our number one priority.”
